RFA Choir Program

The Reaching for the Arts Choir Program extends to many partner schools and organizations in the New York City Area and beyond. Through this program, students learn about choral singing, intonation, breath support, overall musical literacy, and community building. The RFA Choir performs in venues in New York City such as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, and travels outside of New York City for performances.
RFA Vocal Lesson Audition and Performance Program

The Reaching for the Arts Vocal Program is designed to provide young (middle school-aged) singers with the vocal and musical tools they need to successfully audition for performance arts high schools in the New York City Area. All applicants are evaluated by Artistic and Executive Director, Jessica Punchatz. Once admitted into the program, students study alongside our RFA teaching artists.
RFA Visual Arts Program

Be the Artist you have always wanted to be! We are extremely dedicated artists who want to expose your child to high-level Visual Arts media. Students will learn how to develop their talents and interests in the visual arts no matter what level they are on. All they need is to love the arts! We also focus on helping middle school students to create visual art portfolios and to be prepared to audition for visual art specialty high schools.
High School Visual Arts Portfolio Design
Middle school students get one on one time and advise in creating a portfolio showcasing their body of work. This program is designed to prepare students for high school admissions and the type of work they will be expected to complete in a performing arts high school. Students must show a love and interest for visual arts to be admitted into this after school program.
Gallery Walk
Students create an art gallery for parents and community members to walk through and see their work from throughout the year. Each year the students present their work in the spring.
RFA Strings Program
The RFA after-school Orchestral Strings Program gives 3rd-8th grade students the opportunity to learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Students showcased their learning and musical skills in concerts for the public and for their schools. Middle-school students have the opportunity to receive private lessons, so they can prepare audition materials to apply to specialty high schools in the performance arts.

RFA Guitar Program
The RFA Guitar Program is an after-school program that allows students the opportunity to learn guitar using classical and electric guitar techniques. Students showcase their learning in concerts for the public and for their schools. Middle-school aged students have the opportunity to receive private lessons, so they can prepare audition materials to apply to specialty high schools in the performance arts.
